The Pyramid of Doom By: Andy McDermott – Audiobook Online

“The Pyramid of Doom” is an action-adventure novel written by Andy McDermott, and narrated by Gildart Jackson. The story follows the protagonist, archaeologist Nina Wilde, and her ex-SAS boyfriend, Eddie Chase, as they embark on a dangerous quest to uncover the secrets of a lost pyramid in the heart of the Amazon jungle. As they face off against treacherous enemies and ancient traps, they must also confront their own personal demons and their complicated relationship. The book is filled with twists and turns, thrilling action scenes, and plenty of historical mystery and intrigue. The story takes readers on a wild ride through the jungle, as Nina and Eddie race to uncover the secrets of the lost pyramid before their enemies get to it first. Overall, “The Pyramid of Doom” is an entertaining read for fans of adventure novels, with a compelling storyline and well-developed characters.

Archaeologists are about to break into a secret vault beneath the Great Sphinx, causing an international TV audience to wait in anticipation. However, Macy Sharif, an archaeology student, has already discovered something significant: a religious cult looting the site. The cult has taken possession of a map that leads to the lost pyramid of Osiris, a discovery more impressive than the vault. Unfortunately, Macy is framed by corrupt officials and flees for her life, seeking help from the only people who can save her. American archaeologist Nina Wilde has a tarnished reputation but is contacted by Macy and appeals to her for assistance. Nina teams up with Eddie Chase, her ex-SAS bodyguard, to embark on the ultimate treasure hunt. Despite the killer who follows them every step of the way, they pursue the map from Manhattan, to a yacht off Monaco, and to a buried desert site. Finally, they find themselves in a forgotten ancient world both beautiful and terrible, where the God of Death has been keeping his secrets for 6000 years, until Nina and Eddie uncover them.

The storyline is great but the amazing escapes seem staged and completely magical. While this is a defining adventure across Egypt, Nina and Eddie’s act despite the miraculous deaths of Nina and Eddie is unfathomable. They had faced death many times but were still able to escape because things happened to prevent it. They were either the luckiest people in the world or the ones who escaped… from a crashed helicopter, a run across the desert, being locked in a grave or a boat chase in the harbor, bad guns always overpowered them and better equipped but Nina and Eddie and Macy prevailed by sheer luck.

I still love the story and you too, just check your brain at the door.

This book in the series may start slowly, but it builds up to an exciting climax that is worth reading, particularly the last few chapters. The protagonists, Nina and Chase, are on a quest to find the renowned Garden of Eden. As they explore, they unearth compelling evidence of a previous civilization from over 100,000 years ago. They begin to question whether this culture is a product of alien or earth-based origins. However, they encounter unexpected obstacles in the form of a secret cult and an unidentified entity, both determined to impede their progress in uncovering the clues. To learn the resolution to the puzzling mystery, readers must read the book and experience the unusual ending for themselves.
