I’ve been waiting and waiting for the return of Nic Costa and his team! And I’m not disappointed. David Hewson has created characters that are so lifelike, I feel like they’re old friends. Absolutely fascinating story..I listened for hours….wish it didn’t end. Of course, it would never be interesting without Saul Reichlen’s brief but evocative reading.

In fact, I loved it so much that I listened to it twice, which I can’t remember a long time ago (or read a book twice). I like the enchanting blend of myth, tradition and present. I love the Nic Costa series, each has a completely different look at what’s going on in Italy and this movie is fascinating. On the beautiful Calabrian coast, through the characters I came to know and love, I got to know ‘Ndrangheta – a ruthless and powerful mafia organization, and found the story fascinating to the end. Keep them coming, Mr. Hewson!

After reading all of Nic Costa’s books, I was really looking forward to reading this one. It did not disappoint. Love the characters and the way to describe the scenery and people of the area. Well worth the wait!
