Wildlife biologist Lindsey thought attending a fan convention with her new boyfriend, Ben, was a great idea – until their relationship fell apart. Lindsey still longs for her ex – but if he wants her, he’ll have to prove he can give her what she needs.
Ben will do anything to win Lindsey back, and when he sees her in her skimpy black vinyl conference outfit, he realizes what she’s yearned for. And he is inspired to finally give in to his dark lust for complete sexual control….
Lindsey marvels at her reaction to Ben’s quirky new seduction techniques, and suddenly sees the brilliant but boring coding master in a different light. After several erotic encounters in hotel rooms and stairs, she falls in love with him again. And wonder if the intimate relationship will last when they get home….
I have to say that I love this story because of so many different factors. It’s well-written (thank God), fun, intelligent, and full of interesting references that of course I fully understand. I don’t remember how many times I giggled and had to stop to read it to my husband. One of my favorite lines is when Lindsey compares Ben’s erection to what Wolverine’s bones are replacing. I had to read this to my husband and his comment was “Adamantium”, which of course is what it’s called. It makes my passionate heart beat harder.
Ben and Lindsey broke up and were forced to endure a long ride together in an RV on their way to BeastCon (think HUGE comics convention). Ben is finally starting to open his eyes wide as to what Lindsey wants from their relationship and he also realizes that he has suppressed some of his dominant urges due to concerns that they are not healthy thoughts. strong for him and also very anti-feminist.
It’s great to see a book showing a Dom in the works. His research, the questions he has, the concerns and even some confusion about what he wants. In most of the books that I read, it is not uncommon for Dom to be well established in the lifestyle but it is the subplot that comes into play in this situation. What a great reminder that even Doms has to start somewhere.
