The Steam-Pump Jump
- A Chronicles of St Mary’s Short Story
- Narrated by: Zara Ramm
Not one to let being smashed in Sick Bay stop her, Max had a great idea. But she needs Markham to do it for her. The subject of this cunning plan is Peterson, who is grappling with another loss and is not going very well. What’s needed to help him get through it is empathy, sensitivity, tact, and understanding.
Moving forward, Mr. Markham, for whom empathy, sensitivity, etc., are things that happen to other people. Combining a fanatic from R&D, a head of Security with his own problems, an inflatable pump, two historians who can’t even be in the same room, some Christians fastidious and a very dirty body of water. Told in the words of Markham, this is the story of an intervention – the style of St Mary’s.
Honestly, who doesn’t love all of St Mary’s wonderful misfits? And in these short stories, we focus on one of the lovable crew. Thank you for making Mr. Markham the star of this dirty game.
Now… when will we see these guys on screen and where should I submit my application although I can’t decide between the History Department and the R&D Department.
If you haven’t read the story of Saint Mary. I’m jealous with you. Not a bad one in the bunch. Fun characters, great dialogue, Audible’s narration is amazing. This is the type of person I am – weird, naughty, playful, dedicated, and more down-to-earth than most breathing people.
This is a wonderful book. I loved Jodi Taylor, I loved the narrator, she did a great job, the story came to life and I enjoyed every minute of it. Another winner in the Chronicle of Saint MaryS. The narrator, as always, is excellent. This is a much more interesting story than some novels, and thus an enjoyable respite between novels.
An interesting short from Marcum’s point of view. This short story contains all the expected satire, excellent writing, and endearing characters that Jodi Taylor fans have come to appreciate. Don’t miss it.
