The Thousand Orcs is the 17th book in the Legend of Drizzt series by R. A. Salvatore. It follows the story of Drizzt and his companions as they confront a horde of orcs led by the ruthless Obould Many-Arrows. The orcs have united under Obould’s leadership and they are determined to conquer the lands of the north, including the Silver Marches, which is home to Drizzt’s friends. Drizzt, along with his friends Bruenor Battlehammer and Wulfgar, sets out to stop the orcs and protect their home. They are joined by new allies including the magic users Innovindil and Tred McKnuckles. The group battles through dangerous territories and battles fierce monsters before finally confronting the orc army. In a fierce battle, the group defeats the orc army and kills Obould, but not without great loss. Drizzt and his companions are left to mourn the loss of one of their own, but they are also left with the knowledge that they were able to protect their home and destroy a great threat to the north. Overall, The Thousand Orcs is a thrilling adventure tale full of action and danger. It explores themes of friendship, sacrifice, and the power of a united force against a common enemy.

That’s the Drizzt story and nothing better. I never enjoyed reading until I picked up these series. I can put myself in every character’s position. I’ve been through so much in such a short time in my life. These books have helped me guide myself and how to guide my life with virtues greater than myself. Instead of hurting everyone, I try my best to help all, but there are people you can’t help and you can’t hold yourself accountable. Love these books and really wish someone would treat this as a huge cinematic with some follow – up. If they can do it for racing cars as fast and furious then this will be no big deal.

The Thousand Orcs lie beyond the Hunter’s Trilogy, itself part of a long line of books by R. A. Salvatore. This is my favorite book about Drizzt and the company. Full of action from the start. The few previous books I’ve read from Salvatore don’t highlight Drizzt’s adventures and I find myself a bit bored of them. Thousands of Orcs are preparing for a bigger battle and I’m excited to read what happens next. Still, still not a fan of Pikel and Ivan. I felt that they took me away from the story I was reading.
