The Twelve Dates of Christmas
- Narrated by: Elizabeth Knowelden
When it comes to relationships, Kate Turner, 34, readily says “Bah, humbug.” The sleepy town of Blexford, England, isn’t exactly brimming with prospects, and anyway, Kate has found fulfillment in her career as a designer and in her fascinating side business. She is a baker for old friend Matt’s neighborhood cafe. But then her best friend signed her up with a dating agency that promises to help singles find love before the holidays. Twenty-three more days until Christmas. Twelve dates with 12 different men. The odds must be in her favor in the end…right?
However, with each new date being more dire than the last – and the whole town watching for her mistakes – Kate has to remind herself that sometimes love, like mistletoe, shows up. where it is least expected. And maybe, just maybe, it’s always right in front of her nose
I love this audiobook and it sets the perfect mood for the holidays. I will listen to this song again while baking, crafting & wrapping presents, because this story inspires one to get lost in all things Christmas. I laughed and smiled at the story, and didn’t even care if it was a bit predictable (which I’ve read in some of the other reviews). It’s still totally enjoyable and the narrator is AMAZING – & perfect for this story. I highly recommend listening to this soothing carnival music!
I absolutely love this book. There were times when I actually laughed out loud. Kate writes so well, I can’t help but support her. It’s the perfect holiday listening. I would highly recommend this book and have told friends and family to give it a try. Can’t wait to hear more from this author.
This is the perfect Christmas romance book! There’s nothing better than an English countryside in a quaint little village, a bakery, Christmas and love! The author used such incredible language to describe the setting, the artwork on the canvas, and the cake. It was easy to visualize and even taste exactly what she was describing. The author also never uses the same word or phrase over and over again as many of them do. So glad I stumbled across this book!
Really enjoyed this book- sweet little story, love the writing and dynamics of the main character and her friends and family in her quaint village. Interesting story sharing some of the successes and failures that people sometimes encounter when dating in this modern day. As some have mentioned, it’s a predictable story – but well executed and comforting. Laugh out loud more than a few times. Looking forward to reading more from the author.
