The Young Elites is a good book by author Marie Lu.
Adelina Amouteru is a survivor of the blood plague: marked by a jagged scar, snow-white hair and lashes. Abandoned by her family, Adelina finally found a place to belong in the secret society of the Young Elites. Elites are heroes, here to save innocent people in desperate situations. But for the Investigation Axis, Kenettra’s white-robed soldiers, they are monsters with demonic powers that need to be brought to justice. As Adelina learns more about this dangerous world where politics and magic clash. She soon realizes that her own powers could be in jeopardy leading to an era of panic the world has never seen.

Marie Lu is one of my favorite writers. I really enjoyed her Legend series, so when I found out she was going to write a new series, I was super excited.

The Young Elites is a different book than most other YA books I’ve read recently; it’s darker, more gritty, and ultimately the central character that the book chooses to follow is a far cry from your typical red-gold-all-round-girl. .

In fact, Adelina faces a lot of personal struggles in her life, especially when it comes to controlling the darkness within her, and this is not helped by the fact that she seems to have been raised by the ~worst~ father ever, and is currently struggling to maintain warm reciprocal warm relationships with others (including her older sister) she).

I find myself really connecting with Adelina, even though she’s more of a villain, and I think this is definitely because Marie Lu first introduced and then developed the character throughout the book as well as it was. how.

The story kept me hooked with enough details to make it interesting and the main character had depth but the hope of redemption never came and even though it might end up in a novel next theory, but here is not good enough to keep me reading. I just feel that the heroine should stop the constant internal torment and find a deeper strength than mystical power and manipulation. I want her to choose the good and most of what is offered here is just further darkness. Not as hopeful as her previous series and therefore not as engaging in the end.
