Theft of Swords (Full Audiobook) by Michael J. Sullivan

Tim Gerard Reynolds voice narrates another one of Michael J. Sullivan’s fine series. The start of novel is dramatic as we find two thieves who are the master in their field. Not only this, they are quite selective in their tasks as well because they need to achieve something big all the time. They are never caught by anyone and thus they are treated as a legend in the town.

Royce and Hadrian think about themselves as two artists in the field of burglary. Yet the two fail to guess the net that others were weaving around them for quite some time now. It was like someone was allowing them to get deeper into the web that could make them lose their lives in the end.

They at the end of an unsuccessful mission find themselves totally trapped in the murder of the king of that state. Thus they are left with no place to hide until they themselves catch the main culprit behind the whole thing. The enemy is always behind the shadows throughout the novel which makes it interesting as the suspense becomes quite attractive. We can also get some tags related to FREE: The Jester (A Riyria Chronicles Tale) and Age of Legend as these books are also by the same author thus it’s obvious to find some association.

The unity in the plot however is one of a kind. The action is not continuous but one can expect that a big fight would be displayed in the ending scenes. The dialogues are not too long but the words that are used are surely effective and concise.
