But dealing with her ex is the least of Hannah’s concerns when a horrifying blood ritual interrupts the end-of-school bonfire. Evidence of dark magic begins to appear throughout Salem, and Hannah is certain that it is the work of the deadly Blood Witch. Problem is, her team is less convincing, forcing Hannah to team up with the last person she wanted to meet: Veronica.

While the two try to destroy the Blood Witch at a house party, Hannah meets Morgan, a cute new ballerina in town. But trying to go on a date in the midst of a supernatural crisis is easier said than done, and Hannah will have to test the limits of her powers if she wants to save her coven and get the girl, especially when attacks begin. The attacks on Salem’s witches became more and more dangerous.

Isabel Sterling’s exciting, suspenseful debut is equal parts sweet romance and thrilling mystery. With everything she loves at stake, Hannah must confront this murderous villain before her coven – and any chance she has with the new girl – is destroyed.

OH. This book is definitely a wild ride – in a great way. Very action-packed, there are little cliff hangers at the end of each chapter. I think I read this book in about a week. I couldn’t put it down and can’t wait to read the next book in the “This Coven Won’t Break” series.

Protagonist Hannah Walah lives in Salem, Massachusetts, the infamous town of the Witch Trials in the 1600s. She herself is an Elemental Witch, descended from a group of witches who survived the fire. Hannah is not only a witch but also a member of the LGBTQA+ community, identifying as a lesbian.

The story eludes to the fact that Hannah and her ex, Veronica, who is also a witch in the same coven, were once entangled with the Blood Witches in New York. This frightens Hannah and after a strange ritual occurs in the woods at a summer bonfire, she fears that one of the Blood Witches may have found her again.
