Thoughts & Prayers – Audiobook Online

“Thoughts & Prayers” by Bryan Bliss is a novel that delves into the aftermath of a school shooting, focusing on the lives of three high school students who survived the tragic event. The book explores themes of trauma, healing, fear, resilience, and the impact of gun violence on individuals and communities.

“In his resonant and calming new novel, Bryan Bliss shows that there is no straight line through trauma, no easy formula for healing. Instead, in three loosely connected stories of young people bound by an all-too-familiar tragedy, he deftly illuminates small moments of human connection and determination. who can lead to a place of grace.” (Gayle Forman, bestselling author of If I Stay and I Have Lost My Way)

Battle. Flight. Frozen. What do you do when you can’t move on, even though the rest of the world seems to be the same?

Powerful and tense, Think & Pray is an extraordinary novel that explores what it means to heal and feel safe in a world that continually chooses violence.

Claire, Eleanor and Brezzen have very little in common. Claire escapes to Minnesota with her brother, Eleanor is the face of a social movement, and Brezzen retreats into the fantasy world of Wizards & Warriors.

But a year ago, they were linked. They all hid under the same stairs and heard gunshots that claimed the lives of several classmates and a teacher. Now, each person copes with trauma as best they can, even as the world around them continues to move.

Told in three loosely connected but closely intertwined stories, National Book Award-winning author Bryan Bliss’ Thoughts & Prays follows three high school students after a school shooting. Thoughts & Prayers is a story about gun violence, but more importantly it is a story about what happens after the reporters leave and the news cycle moves on to the next tragedy. It’s the story of three unforgettable teenagers who feel forgotten.

I really enjoyed this story, especially after having just finished reading the first book The Relentless Prey. This one goes a little deeper into the horror genre than the first one and honestly, I really like that he went in that direction. The artwork is impressive and the ending left me wanting to know more about this story. I can’t wait for the next one!
