He is originally a CEO of a startup doing medical grade diagnostics and was also part of another company with great expertise for quite some time in the medical field. His great work helped him earn a spot in the “30 under 30” in Forbes’s Health Care list. 

He wrote a series of articles in The Wall Street Journal that exposed the dubious blood testing practices. He got great recognition and also earned credibility for his shared information as he holds a degree in Biology as well. Thicker than Water came much later and after his whistleblower heroics in the infamous Theranos scam. Tyler Shultz himself has narrated this book and it seems that no one else other than him could have done it any better.
