Psychologist Hari Seldon was able to predict mathematically the future of human society in the Milky Way. It is not beautiful. Socio-economic forces were responsible for the complete downfall of the Trantorian Empire and resulted in 30,000 years of anarchy and barbarism before a new empire restored peace and order.
