The story is full of intrigue and imagination. The planet Largegs recently opened to trade with the Human-dominated Commonwealth. But when the daughter of a powerful leader goes missing, authorities believe the cause is a secret agent. They need someone to track down the princess and defeat the troublemaker and do so without alerting the whole planet to their involvement. Can Pip and Flinx, fish forever out of the water, be able to save the situation?
Another interesting sci-fi work by Alan Dean Foster, who incorporated his personal taste in music into his literary field. And that’s another “Pip & Flinx” story, which I find oddly enjoyable even though it’s a bit different from some of the other action-adventures.
Alan Dean Foster always delivers a great story.
I really like the stories that revolve around these two creatures. Considering that the author created the theme over 4 decades ago, they really have stood the test of time with their flying colors (at least for Pip). The latest story is filled with new creatures and a civilization that challenges the couple’s lives. It was a pleasure reading and getting to know Flinx and his little trailer.
