“The Final Day” is a post-apocalyptic novel by William R. Forstchen, and it is the third book in his “John Matherson” series. The story is set in the aftermath of a devastating electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack that has destroyed the infrastructure of the United States, leaving it vulnerable to outside threats.

In this final book, John Matherson and his community are faced with the threat of a foreign invasion from China. The community must come together to fend off the invaders and protect their way of life.

However, the threat they face is not just from the outside. The remnants of the US government are also a danger to the survivors as they try to assert their authority and control over them.

Throughout the book, we see the struggles and sacrifices made by John and his community as they fight to survive in a world forever changed by the EMP attack. Ultimately, the story ends on a note of hope as the community comes together to rebuild and create a new future for themselves.

If you liked “One Second After” and “One Year After”, “The Last Day” is a must to listen and/or read. It was the perfect ending to the series.
