The Garden Of Evil / Nic Costa, Book 6 – Audiobook Online

I apologize for the confusion in my previous response. The Garden of Evil is actually a novel by David Hewson and is the 6th installment in his Nic Costa book series. The novel follows Italian detective Nic Costa and his partner, Gianni Peroni, as they investigate the murder of a wealthy art collector in Rome. The collector’s prized possession – a rare botanical text known as the “Hortus Conclusus” – has been stolen, and Costa believes that the theft is linked to the murder. As the investigation progresses, Costa discovers a web of corruption and deceit that reaches to the highest levels of Italian society. He also becomes increasingly entangled with the victim’s beautiful daughter, who may know more about the crime than she’s letting on. The Garden of Evil is a fast-paced thriller filled with twists and turns as Costa and Peroni race to solve the case before more people are killed. It has been praised for its vivid descriptions of Rome and its intriguing plot.

The Garden Of Evil / Nic Costa, Book 6, Audiobook Online By: David Hewson

Nominated for Audiobook Download of the Year, 2008.

In a secret studio in Rome, an art specialist is found dead in front of one of the most beautiful paintings Nic Costa has ever seen – an unnamed masterpiece by Caravaggio.

But soon, tragedy will strike Nic near home. The identity of the main suspect is known, but he remains invulnerable, protected by a team of lawyers and a sinister cult known as the Eksistts.

If Costa can decipher the cult’s reason for existence, he may have a chance to catch his wife’s killer. But the mystery will bring him back to Caravaggio himself and the reason he had to flee Rome, all those centuries ago.

I often listen to history related books, had a whim and bought this one and absolutely loved it. It features bits of history throughout the book wrapped up in an entertaining and entertaining fictional story. If you have been to Rome this is a book that brings back a lot of memories of places around the city.

After other bland reviews, I hesitated to buy this book… I’m so glad I did  found the story engaging and tense, the characters engaging, and the interesting interweaving of history and present. The narration is amazing: finally someone who can pronounce it right! If you like the Da Vinci code, I think you’ll love this too.I can’t put it down.
