He is disgusted with the way people look, what they eat, the wars they witness on the news, and is completely confused by such concepts of love and family. But as time went on, he began to realize that there might be more to this strange species than he had believed. He drinks, reads Emily Dickinson, listens to Talking Heads, and begins to bond with the family he lives with, in disguise. As he picks up shards of the professor’s shattered personal life, the narrator sees hope and redemption in human imperfection and begins to question the very mission that brought him arrive there. A quest that involves not only hindering human progress… but also murder.
