This is an extraordinary book, one that I can’t stop reading/listening to.

Although this husband and wife group has been writing and receiving book awards since 1994, the majority of their work is in Ukrainian and Russian. only to the West Coast this year. While this is the middle book of a trilogy, unlike the other trilogies this installation is pretty decent although I expect that the rest of the parts will be available in English. I can’t wait to read them. These sections are master writers.

Although not intended for spoilers, I will just say that this is a fantasy book that includes magic and sword fighting, but nothing is gratuitous. romantic. All of these are good attributes in my opinion. The book is about courage and cowardice, self-discovery and redemption. This is a wonderfully rich and vivid story about humanity, our psyche, and the nature of both. , perhaps the most powerful aspect of the book has to do with the power of forgiveness. This is its best storytelling.

When I started listening to this book, I was engaged (but not absorbed) in listening to one book and reading another work of literary fiction. I just need to relax and enjoy one of the more remarkable books I’ve read/heard. Although simple in its allegorical and moral character as a play, it still has the depth and richness of Russian literary quintessence. The characters are rich and fully drawn.
