To foil a plot of mass assassination, Matt Helm must undertake his most dangerous mission yet: marriage.
An agent like Helm might be a good man to live with for a while, but he’s not the type of man a woman would marry – unless she had to to maintain a decent cover. skillful. The man whose daily job is to violently marry a bride like no other – just to make sure death doesn’t separate them.
I’ve read several of Matt Helm’s books, and while the plot changes, they’re essentially the same. I compare them to Jack Reacher’s books, where Matt Helm and Jack Reacher are smart and very logical. They think things through carefully and solve the “mystery of the book” through wisdom and logic, rather than brute force or some sort of superpower. Much of the book takes place in Matt’s head, and Stefan Rudnicki is an excellent storyteller and Matt’s inner voice.
I love story lines, twists and turns, I love the author. Good story. Excellent narration. I look forward to hearing more conversations between Matt Helm and Mac.
The plot of the story revolves around Matt Helm, who is summoned by his boss, Mac, to protect Dr. Olivia Mariatzi from a dangerous man named Amil Taussig. Taussig plans to use agents to eliminate his targets, similar to a plan that failed in Budapest. Helm’s side mission is to find and kill Taussig. Throughout the story, Mariatzi’s character is explored in depth, with her feelings for Helm and the pain she carries. The ending is unexpected and heart-wrenching, and the identity of the enemy agent takes the reader by surprise. Overall, the story is well-written and engaging.
