The Vexed Generation / Magic 2.0, Book 6, Audiobook Online By: Scott Meyer
In the latest hilarious adventure in the Magic 2.0 series, it’s time for the teenagers to show the adults how magic really works.
Mattie and Brewster are normal, typical 16 – year – old twins living with their normal, boring parents: Martin and Gwen Banks. Casual and boring, that is, until the day their father’s best friend shows up at their house – wearing what appears to be a bathrobe.
The next thing Mattie and Brewster know, their parents are frozen like statues in the living room, the guy in the bathrobe is gone and they need to find answers quickly.
The twins begin their journey to discover the truth about their parents’ lives. Along the way, they find secrets, lies, magic, time travel, strange new friends, strange new enemies, and a truly strange remote (which they’ve been told over and over again). over and over again, not a silly thing). It’s a twisty and bizarre path they hope will lead them to the man they blame for their parents’ peril: Philip.
I misjudged and misjudged the first book in the series. I criticized Meyer for not doing anything with the story I so loved in other books. It’s a stupid way to judge a book, based on my thoughts on what it lacks compared to other well – loved stories, instead of judging it based on what it delivers. Now, years later, I’m back to this series with fresh ears and I love it all. This is another exciting and innovative story in the world of Magic 2.0. The stories have become a comfortable escapade for me to unplug and I’ll be on the lookout for the next addition to the series.
It is the sixth installment in Scott Meyers’ Magic 2.0 series. I’m afraid you really should go back and read the other five books in the woods or you won’t understand what’s going on. My favorite characters from the first five books are now parents. This book is about their children. Many jokes and references pay off here. Lots of laughs, lots of humour, excellent ending. Luke Daniels returns as the hilarious narrator with his diverse voice. My only critique is that both of Martin’s twins resemble Martin with broken voices. Which I guess makes sense in a way.
