Exciting listening for fans of movies and editors
I listened to all 15 hours of this over the course of a month or so. I have to say, the beginning was a lot more interesting, hearing about how he started the business working alongside Brian DePalma and then of course editing the first two Star Wars films. . After a while, although it gets a bit repetitive, it’s never completely boring. Some of the movies he made later on he barely mentioned, assuming no one cared. I wanted to know more about Raising Cain but he pretty much denied it. It starts to get a little more interesting towards the end of the movie although his role changes a bit. Overall, an enjoyable listening session with a good presentation.

It also delivered! His ascent in Hollywood making Star Wars and Ray films was particularly interesting as was his visit to London to work on soundtracks for various films. It’s clear to see the many relationships and people that let Paul down. It’s also a bit sad when the people you make friends only realize decades later, many of whom are just who they are for a short while when you meet them or they pop up when you never see them again. Although this book is in my rolling stock.
