Rarely Find Books Worth Five Stars
…but here it is. I read this book because, as a fan of the series, I have been eagerly awaiting the release of this latest book since I finished reading the other a few months ago.

Walt Longmire is an extremely likable character. He’s humble, brave, self-deprecating, reasonable, and fallible, all the while managing to be some kind of earthy charmer. The side characters draw the reader in even further, each with their own well-developed roles, strengths and weaknesses. The culture of Wyoming and the American West offers great flavor and at the same time allows it to be a learning experience (I’m an orientalist).

And then there’s the story. Twists, turns, action, romance, mystery, balanced with well-written dialogue and strong cast of characters – it’s a page turner that will make you laugh, cry and cling to the edge of your chair mine.

If that’s still not enough, layer up the amazing narrator who does an incredible job in bringing the characters as well as the emotions and pacing of the story to life. It’s really unbelievable that he fits so dramatically with different voices.
