The Cold Dish is a fictional story that comes with a lot of excitement and mystery that it has got to offer. This novels marks the start of the Walt Longmire series and make that a great series for the audiences. Thanks to the brilliant writing done by Craig Johnson, who impressed people with his creativity and vast imagination for putting up such a thoughtful story. From the narration side. Great work has been done by the experienced narrator, George Guidall.

The author has produced a mystery story with memorable characters and stunning authenticity. Walt Longmire after serving for 25 long years in Absaroka County is hoping for a retirement in peace. However, all his plans were dashed out when Cody Pritchard dead body was discovered just by the Cheyenne Reservation. A couple of years earlier, Cody was one of the 4 boys from high school who got suspended for raping an innocent girl from the place. It looks like that somebody is taking revenge. And, Walt Longmire is the one and only strong thing standing between the other three accused boys and the riffle of the unidentified murderer. 

Along with the Henry Standing Bear, the very dear and old friend of Deputy Victoria Moretti and a good long cast of characters are together to fill in the huge hollowness of those high plains. The characters of this novel has both the emotional and humorous side, which is fantastic.

A dish that is best served cold is actually never served at all.

George Guidall brilliance could be well understood when you explore him a bit more with his other popular novels. The recommended novels from the author namely are Dry Bones and Land of Wolves.
