John Lee is the narrator for this audiobook. There is something about this narrator and the author that makes them a very lethal combination. John has one of the best voices in the business. He distinguishes the different characters in the book and his enunciations are on point.

Gabriel Allon is an Israeli art restorer and part-time occasional secret agent. He has run into a problem. He has been called into Switzerland to restore the Raphael of a prominent Swiss banker. When he gets there, he finds the banker to be dead, right in front of the painting. And it is he who is the prime suspect. He is eventually set free after some diplomatic intervention. The daughter of the banker feels guilty and reveals to him that the murderers have also stolen the cache of French Impressionist paintings. Those paintings themselves were acquired under shady circumstances during the Second World War. As Allon gets to know about the wartime misdeeds of the late banker, he is targeted by powerful Swiss organizations that want to keep such information private. Thus, Allon finds himself in a battle for survival against all odds.

This is a thrilling and exciting novel that grabs our attention and keeps it till the very end. Even after reading it, we feel a heightened sense of pleasure, as the adrenaline in our body is still fresh.
