Billionaire Stepbrother – Addiction: Part One is a literary fiction novel by author Stephanie Brother.
This short story is told from all four points of view – step-siblings, Scott and Kady, and their parents, Ted (Scott’s father) and Sarah (Kady’s mother). The first chapter provides some background information about Sarah’s situation and how she met Ted.

The story then builds a bond between Scott and Kady, with their parents completely forgotten while enjoying a new love of their own. There are twists and turns in Scott and Kady’s relationship as they go through various stages. There’s attraction, avoidance (after their parents get married), Scott’s flourishing career, and other relationships, until they finally meet in the later part of the story.

Kady seems to be the strongest character. She’s dependable, and even though she’s tried to distract her, she knows she wants Scott. There’s a small erotic scene where Kady imagines Scott getting intimate with her, and it’s clear to the reader that she’s hot for him! She’s not entirely sure that he feels the same way about her.

There’s a bit more drama towards the end when they meet, and just as the reader begins to fall in love the story ends. Hopefully Season Two will pick up where we left off and get more thrilling and suspenseful.

I had hoped the story would primarily focus on Scott and Kady, and felt that the story would benefit from being told just from their point of view. That said, Addiction is only one part of the series, and getting to know all the characters involved early on is important for the reader to fully understand their plight.
