Too much padding and unrealistic

Where to start… this series is padded with a ton of yaya, most of which is unrealistic and boring. This is clearly an effort to stretch out the number of books in the series. If the Outlander series has thousands of pages and are each over 44 hours in length, then by producing very short stories (not even a real book-length publication) and putting them out as a serial, then shame on Reed and Amazon. He is now up to 12 books in this series, which should have been edited down to half of that. Again, if the Outlander series of seven books, each about 44 hours per book, can edit out the filler, then so can Reed and other the other authors who pad their stories.

There is way too much sexist bull, too much religious nonsense, with unrealistic opportunity to add to their little community with things the regular person couldn’t obtain. The little ranch is blessed with finding someone with a photographic memory who just happened to read the entire encyclopedia; family members who have every skill imaginable, boatloads of extreme weapons and equipment, genius teenagers, and on and on and on. Add to that, it is in serious need of editing. The narrator’s missteps have not been removed, so we hear him clearing his throat and then repeating the same few lines.

Most, if not all, of the very irritating people in the little group are women. The irritating men quickly redeem themselves. A good story teller knows that you shouldn’t write a character as all good or evil, as all irritating, worthless, etc.

They conveniently have everything they need from weapons to supplies, to land, etc. All because they stole it from an African warlord.

I still gave it a three star score because parts are very interesting. But the narrator says M.R.A.P. instead of pronouncing it as M-rap. and too many other examples such as that.

Good Series

I’m so glad I found another apocalypse series to listen to. And this one is really really good. Started off I thought a little odd but it just gives you time to know the characters well. It’s a real story and I finished two books and I’m so much looking forward to all of the rest. There’s not a lot of curse words, which some of these books overdo. But there is good action and good personal stories. I am thoroughly enjoying this!

Great Series, can’t wait for the next book

I finished all 3 books in this series in less then a week, great story. Only thing that could have made it better is if it was narrated by Kevin Pierce, which by no means is a dig on Lee Allen, because he does a great job, but Kevin Pierce just does end of the world like no other.
