The Career of Evil is the third installment in the Cormoran series. It is a mystery, thriller, suspense, and crime fiction written by J. K. Rowling under the pseudonym of Robert Galbraith. Robert Glenister is a fantastic voice-actor who has done justice to this book as the narrator. He is best when he gives voice to Strike. He makes the hero appear relatable to us even though he is unique.

Robin Ellacott is the assistant of Cormoran Strike. As she opens up a package, she is horrified to find a severed leg of a woman inside. When she shows it to Strike, he is almost as alarmed but not as surprised. He suspects that four people from his past could have done such a brutal act.

With the directive from Strike, the police go after the one suspect that he had indicated. But, rarely are matters so simple. Strike has his suspicions on who among the four is responsible. Strike and Robin take matters into their own hands. They decide to go after the other three men besides the one that the police are after. They soon find out that they have ventured inside a dark and deadly world. Soon, more horrendous acts start happening, and they find themselves running out of time.

This novel is very good and features a great character, Strike. He is faced with a lot of challenges, primarily being that he can’t outrun or fight anyone because of his missing leg. He has to use his brains to catch the culprit. Thus, such a character makes for a good story.
