I try not to read the book too fast and by the time I’ve read half a page, I’m hooked again. Start at the beginning (Book 1) otherwise it has no continuity. I love the fact that there are so many descendants linked in these books and the history attached to each of them.

This is a fascinating, well-researched series of books that not only cover an English family through the centuries, but also cover politics, industrial development, the women’s movement, medical developments, and antagonism. bamboo, etc. Highly recommended.
