It’s 1558: Elizabeth I ascends the throne, though still challenged by Mary, and her Protestant faith threatens the Catholic Morland family. Elizabeth I’s reign meant that the Morlands had to find new spheres of influence to restore their fortunes. John, heir of Morland Place, travels north to marry the daughter of Black Will Percy, cattle lord of the Borders, and learns that the way to win her heart is through blood and battle. His tender sister, Lettice, has also traveled north to marry the ruthless Scottish baron, Lord Robert Hamilton, and in the treacherous palace of Mary, Queen of Scotland, she must learn bitter survival lessons.

I love this story at times when it’s hard but it’s also amazing. I am slowly finishing this series and am happy to see it as a true historical story about families. I got lost in it, especially the character

Most movies start to get dull during the making but this one is still very good at this point. The characters change often because that’s the family’s history throughout the centuries. The historical part continues to be as fascinating as the fiction itself, which is very rare. This one focuses more on the family itself but still has a lot of history. It will be interesting to see where the series goes from here for a number of reasons that I won’t say due to spoilers. A great book worth reading!

There is no one like Cynthia Harrod Eagles I have read all the books of the Morland Dynasty, now years later reread The Princeling about the days of Queen Elizabeth Ms Eagles there was always a strong female character and in this we say goodbye to Nan Readers continue to read the Ms Eagles series, now the end of World War 1 (The dancing years) Go back to the war and an interesting reread it all this is awesome
