Review 1: Eternity’s Wheel audiobook by Greenman

I really wanted to be dazzled by this series but I was kind of disappointed by Book 3. I realize that this series is based on a Neil Gaiman idea and not written by him. However, that is not the issue. I enjoyed the adventures of Joey Harker in this alternate universe series and could even make the leap at accepting some of the science.

Anyone who reads science fiction understands the leap although they may think of it as something else. It is ones ability to accept science fiction concepts and science in a way that one can accept it as is or maybe be willing to accept it with a little wink.

I just had to make too much of a leap in this book to make me truly happy with the series. I do not want my opinion to negatively influence others. I just wish I would have like it more.

Review 2: Eternity’s Wheel audiobook by Dominic Sondy

The story is complex and giving most of the characters names that are variants of the hero’s name is a confusing construct that enhances the reader’s confusion. The plot revolves around multiple dimensions coexisting in a flexible time stream with infinite possible outcomes. Anticipating where it is all going keeps the reader interested, but it is difficult to stay focused with the characters all being simultaneous variants of one person.

Review 3: Eternity’s Wheel audiobook by Jaxon

I had been looking forward to this 3rd installment of the series for a while because I enjoyed the first two so much. In fact, I went back and reread the first two books in anticipation of the receiving the 3rd on my Kindle the day it was released. I have to say that I was a bit disappointed in this one. I found the first two a bit more jaunty, good humored and tight knit. The action sequences in the first two volumes seemed more dynamic, even upon a second reading. I think the problem may have been that this third volume had to spend more time in explication and tying up loose ends … which it did quite well … but that made it a bit more “talky” than the first two volumes. I enjoyed the read and am glad to have completed the trilogy. I am giving it three stars because, while a worthwhile read, it didn’t quite meet the expectations established by the first two volumes.
