For Love of Mother-Not/ A Pip & Flinx Adventure – Audiobook Online
For Love of Mother-Not is the first science fiction book in the Pip & Flinx series by author Alan Dean Foster.
He was just a freckled, red-headed child with green eyes and a strange stare when Mather Mastiff first saw him in the auction house.
For many years, his grandmother was his only family. She loved him, taught him everything she knew – even letting him raise the deadly flying snake he called Pip. Across the forests and swamps of the winged world called Moth, their only weapon is Pip’s venom. . . and Flinx’s Extraordinary Talent.
This is the first book by Alan Dean Foster that I have read. His book looked interesting, but by the time his books started popping up in stores, I was already mature enough to read Dostoyevsky, Steinbeck, Kazantzakis, and more. This is the type of story that I especially loved when I was 15 years old, involving the relationship between a young boy and a semi-intelligent alien creature, a common plot in Andre Norton and Robert Heinlein.
