The Brutal Telling is a mystery thriller novel. It is the fifth chapter of the Chief Inspector Gamache/ Three Pines novel series. This novel and the mentioned series is written by Louise Penny. She is a brilliant Canadian author who specializes in writing excellent mystery thrillers. As a good example of her excellent writing skills, check out her The Madness of Crowds and A Rule Against Murder novels.

The narration of this novel is done by Ralph Cosham. He gave a fabulous performance and his powerful narration will be a big reason for you to listen this audiobook over and over again.

Chaos is approaching, old son. These were the words with which the complete peace got shattered in the picturesque Three Pines village.

Everybody, there was known for going to Oliver’s Bistro. The count also included a stranger whose dead body was discovered just on the floor. Gamache, Chief Inspector was called in there for the investigation of the murder.

He was quite dismayed to find out that the story of Oliver was just full of holes. There were concerns that why his fingerprints were everywhere in the cabin which was revealed somewhere deep in the wilderness? Why was it with some priceless antique stuff and with also the blood of the dead man?

Gamache followed a certain trail of treasures and clues where things were a lot mysterious. The truth was never that much difficult to be revealed.

This is a highly engrossing tale once again by Louise Penny. It is a twisty mystery and you will find it resolving with a bittersweet solution. Ralph Cosham was once again at his best with his vocal chords.
