A Short History of Nearly Everything is a book on world history. The author has a history of takin some really tough challenges. In a Walk in the Woods, he mentioned about his daunting trek on The Appalachian Trail and in another time, he shared his experience about the Australian wildlife in another book.

This time, he came with the greatest ever challenge of his life. The challenge here is first to understand and the answer, if that is a possibility. It was all about the biggest and the oldest questions that we all have about ourselves and the universe. Bill Bryson actually looks to understand that how is it possible for us to get from there as being nothing to there being us finally. This is discussed in context of taking as territory right from the Big Bang to the rise of civilization.

Richard Mathews did a great job in narrating this novel. He really made the subject sound more interesting by telling it in a simple and enjoyable tone.

A Short History of Nearly Everything is all about the quest of Bill Bryson. You will find this book funny at times and also profound. However, the concept and ideas shared here are absolutely clear and highly entertaining in terms of the adventure it has. The experiences shared here would definitely add to your knowledge.
