Emerald Blaze is the fifth part of Hidden Legacy (Andrews) novel series. It is a paranormal romance. The author behind this book is Ilona Andrews, where there are two writers behind this name. They are husband and wife and known for writing paranormal romance, fantasy romance, mystery thriller, science fiction and sometimes action & adventure novels as well. The best book so far from Ilona Andrews is Magic Bites. You will also be thoroughly amazed with their Magic Bleeds novel.

The novel in audio format is narrated by Emily Rankin. She was not good with the narration as her voice was quite flat with poor approach to narration. She was heard hitting the last part of her sentence way too hard, which was annoying for the listeners.

Catalina Baylor and her sisters were known as the Prime magic users. They were in possession of some extraordinary powers. The powers they had were the ones which their callous grandmother would have loved to control.

Catalina may have tried to provide her family with some sort of protection while working as the second-in-command of the. But, there were some definite risks in there as well. When the House Baylor was under a severe attack and the monsters were haunting every step of her then Catalina was pushed hard to depend on the charming and dangerous, Alessandro Sagredo. He was her teenage crush who also crushed her heart.

This book is packed with a very interesting story. The characters would amuse you a lot as well. But, the main disappointment of this audiobook is its narration which was too far away from being bearable.
