 Many have tried to win but all in vain so people now visit this virtual reality for fun because it makes their dreams come alive and they can live in those dreams forever. One of those is Wade Watts who has a terrible life in the real world with no one to look after him. 

So the boy spends most of his time in this game that he likes more than his life. Watts is different from the rest however because the boy has passion about the game and an ambition to win the ultimate prize. 

He knows that there is a certain shortcut still hidden in the game that is not yet discovered, that’s why he constantly visits the place where he can listen to the recording of Halliday that could help him in understanding the concept. Finally after hard thinking the body succeeds in winning the first key and that brings other competitors back to the game who thinks that the thing is really achievable. 

There also exist superior powers that want to dominate the game and get hold of Halliday’s work. Ernest Cline previously known for Armada has brought revolution in the fiction world with this one. Wil Wheaton’s voice mixes a little when the male and female talk but the story has one dominant female character that’s why the issue is not of a serious magnitude.
