The story of this novel starts with the character of Seth Hubbard who is a very wealthy man. He is on his death bed now with lung cancer. He leaves behind him a handwritten new will before hanging himself from the sycamore tree.

This act of Seth was something that dragged his adult children, one black maid, and Jake into a conflict. A murder trial was underway which led Brigance to be one of the most notorious citizens of the place he lives in.

There were a lot of questions coming in. The most important one was that why would Seth leave all his wealth for his maid? Was it the chemotherapy and the other medication which took away his ability to think clearly?

The Sycamore Row novel was the Audie Award finalist in 2014 in the thriller and suspense category. John Grisham was at his very best in bringing up a mystery thriller of this caliber. The novel is said to be one of the most popular ones of our time.
