Here the author talks about corrupt people in the judiciary, a place where we usually don’t suspect such people.

 Judges are considered as the custodian of justice in the state and no one ever doubts them, but it does not mean that they have a clean character and career. Not all but there are some in every department that take advantage of their power and presence. That’s where people like Lacy Stoltz step in to keep a cross check.

 Lacy also thinks that it is not always intentional when a judge makes a mistake but for a check she leaves all options open for her. This time Grey Myers an old lawyer comes to the town with a new name and as a first case he puts charges on a judge. 

The lawyer claims that the judge has made money through illegal means in a quantity that he can surpass all the judges of the state. The judge who happens to be the culprit has allowed a mafia to establish a casino in the city. In this way the mafia is strengthening its roots in the city and the judge is getting his share secretly. 

Lacy is on the case in a flash and she reminds us of Camino Winds in which the investigator made his life tough after opting the case. Not only the judge but the whole mafia becomes a rival of Lacy who is bound to solve the case at any rate.
