Hannah Swensen has full-time teaching of her cooking class and runs her own bakery, The Cookie Jar. When her brother-in-law is named the prime suspect in a murder, she spends her time searching for the killer.

Hannah is back with another adventure and as usual there are troubles surrounding her fragrant cookie shop. The small town of Lake Eden is plagued by murders, this time the Sheriff and he’s not a nice guy; There are a lot of people who want him to take off his clothes.

Things become even more complicated when all eyes are on his brother-in-law Bill, who is running against Grant in the upcoming election and once again Hannah has to help herself and clear his name. At least her shop isn’t a crime scene but her chocolate cupcake was found near Grant’s body as he was eating it when someone hit the back of the head. The more she uncovers the dirt on seemingly innocent people who have lived in Lake Eden for years. As usual, she does more than the police, I don’t even know why they have a police force there when the town’s baker solves all the crimes…
