The trilogy completes the mission of the retired officer Bill Hodges who joined the ranks once again because he felt that he was linked deeply with the case that started in Mr. Mercedes: A Novel. It was this case and the horrific sight of the dead bodies that never allowed him to rest until the mysterious one is arrested and send to jail for a lifetime. 

The narrator is still the same as Will Patton’s voice goes well with the character also the narrator is quite skillful in such tales. We have seen the ability of Will Patton in Stephen’s other books as well like Doctor Sleep: A Novel.  The novel also enters a new phase as Brady Hartsfield reawakes with brain powers this time. Brady has been there in the hospital ward for about half a decade and though he was unable to move his brain was still planning. 

The day Brady leaves the hospital after making his room a ruin its death signal for Bill and his partner in the investigation agency Holly Gibney. Holly was the one who gave the final shot on the head of Brady after which he spent five years in the hospital. Both of them are sure that the enemy wants revenge but one thing they were never aware of was that Brady would not spare their friends even. 

The psychopath once again on the loose, planning the sick techniques in which he is specialized and now he is aided with brain powers. It’s hell of a finale for the epic series that really thrilled the audience throughout, from the first till the last chapter.
