Hell in the Heartland is a biography by author Jax Miller.
The book covers rural Oklahoma that has puzzled authorities for two decades, with regard to the disappearances of two teenage girls and a much larger murder mystery, the possibility of police cover-ups, and An unbelievable fact.

On December 30, 1999, in rural Oklahoma, 16-year-old Ashley Freeman and her best friend, Lauria Bible, were sleeping through the night. The next morning, the Freeman family’s trailer caught fire and both girls were missing.

Rumors of drug debts, revenge, and police corruption ran rampant in the years that followed, the case remained unsolved and the girls were never found.

In 2015, crime writer Jax Miller – who was haunted by the case – decided to go to Oklahoma to find out what really happened that winter night in 1999.
