Infinity 7 is a science fiction book by author Charles R. Hinckley.
Given the possibility of alien life aboard the Metis 3 space station, astronaut John Collins fights for his life as he battles hallucinations. Creepy crew members and misunderstood alien influence on the mission. When the station loses control and plunges straight into Earth’s atmosphere, John must come to his senses and save the station before it’s too late.

Infinity 7 is the story of a man swinging a hand into the future while clutching at his sinful past, and he does it while battling unforeseen obstacles that threaten lifetime achievement. and he has to do it in a space environment, bringing with it his own set of problems. Smooth, polished style, strong sense of tempo, well-built tension.

Both the protagonist’s pain and the technology throughout feel real, as do the well-rounded supporting characters. Smart character and logical downward spiral in scientific research environment. There were a few points where I found the circumstances swing a little too long for my comfort and a loose finish with the smarteye camera that I wanted to tire of at the end. But the ending, although a bit abrupt, is tightly and deftly executed.
