There are new adventures as Marla and her children settle in Gales Haven. There is a Spanx thief who may be an elf and Marla is tasked with solving the case. The characters are quirky and interesting. Caper was fun but the entire book only lasted for one day. I would prefer her and Quade. They just don’t have enough time together.

But I was quite confused by her stories about women’s monthly experiences. Spoiler: Our heroine was supposed to solve the problem of the elves, but the homeless and lonely accusing creature is still in the same situation. I am disappointed in that lack of development.
