Mr. Mercedes: A Novel (Full Audiobook) by Stephen King

A thriller by Stephen King is always bound to impress the audience as the race against time gives you an awesome chill. This story is a battle between the good and the evil of the world and we can say that the characters are symbolic in nature to some extent. The opening is a pleasant and causal one as we see people standing in the line for a spot at a job fair in the native town. Everybody prepares well for his spot and suddenly tragedy strikes the innocent so deadly that the sight becomes a ruin in no time.

A person all of a sudden in his Mercedes comes near the crowd and instead of stopping nearby rams through the crowd not once but several times. As a result, eight people die on the spot and several wounded, with no sign of the killer. The death scene at once changes the horizon of the novel and suspense and action arise more than ever.

Bill Hodges looks for the killer during his whole career but nothing was found. Now all of a sudden after years he gets the hint of another such attack, the very news forces him to come out of the shackles of his retired life. Thus the challenge is on throughout the novel until the criminal is arrested.

It’s a wonderful psychological war as well that we listen in the voice of Will Patton a master narrator of thrillers such as this one. The elements in the story remind us about books like It and The Institute but the suspense in this novel is really raw. The criminal also teases us to the maximum standards as we fail to understand the motive behind the killings.

    1. Hodges sits and looks at his television which is off fir the first time in months. That is the ln at thing that plays. End of 4 or 5. After that nothing. Where is the rest of this book. The Martian was listed in rows by chapter so you could easily get back to where you left off. What happened to the rest of this book?
