As the series evolves, both the characters and the plot increase in complexity and scope. As the characters have matured in terms of age, stature, knowledge, and experience, so has the scope of the plot. Every now and then, Terry peels off another layer of onion skin that is the plot and reveals a bit more of the complexity. After a few books, you look back and realize he’s been guiding you in this direction all along!
