Nice Girls Don’t Live Forever – Free Full Audiobook
Nice Girls Don’t Live Forever is the third love book in the Half-Moon Hollow series by Molly Harper.
Nothing sucks romance out of world travel like a boyfriend who may or may not have broken up with you in a hotel room in Brussels. Jane Jameson’s charming gentleman Gabriel is always unpredictable. Charming, anonymous notes awaited him at every stop on their international vacation, along with his evasive behavior over the past few months. Finally pushed Jane on the next flight home to Half Moon Hollow – alone, upset and unsure if Gabriel would end their relationship without actually telling her.
The vampire turned children’s librarian is resurrecting with lots of Faux Type O, some TLC from her colorful friends and family. Her plan for a brave New Jane.
Step One: Get her newly renovated paranormal bookstore off the ground. Step Two: Support her best friend, Zeb, and his werewolf bride as they prepare for the birth of their soon-to-be child… or litter.
Step Three: Find out who sent her the threatening letters and how her hate mail friend is connected to Gabriel. Because for this kind girl, surviving a broken heart suddenly became a matter of life and death.
Nice Girls Don’t Live Forever begins with Jane on a plane home from Holiday in Europe with Gabriel, who may or may not have broken up with her. Or maybe she broke up with him. She’s not quite sure. She is fed up with his negligent and negligent behavior and uses her shop’s break-in as an excuse to leave. Jane is determined to continue her immortal life and prove that she is capable of succeeding on her own. It is only now that mysterious letters appear to her telling her that Gabe is not the man she thought he was and that he did nothing to resolve the situation by disappearing. Someone is definitely trying to hurt Jane and the people around her but who and why?
Jane’s sense of humor remains and works to its full potential. Her family and friends add to the story so much that I love them as much as I love Jane. While trying to explain to my husband why I was laughing so much, I came to the conclusion that Miss Harper took all the Vampires, Werewolves, Romance and Chick Lit clichés and turned it off. they.
Even though I’ve been warned by others that Gabe is AWOL for a good part of the book and has a lame excuse, I’m still upset with him and his decisions and reasons. I guess it suits Jane’s chaotic world, but it’s actually a bit lame.
I enjoyed the development of the story around Jane’s family. Jane’s mother finally accepts Jane’s vampireism with embarrassing results. Jane’s sister tries to exact revenge by sending her to the merchant guild just to alienate herself. Jane’s grandmother orders Jane to apologize to her most recent fiance – sorry for offending him after he tried to kill Jane.
I laughed and enjoyed so much that I was sad to read to the end and there was nothing else to read with Jane in it. I found on Miss Harper’s website a short story titled “Pretty girls don’t sign a lease without a wedding ring.” She’s talking to the publisher about the 4th book. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
