Nobody Runs Forever is a well-written crime story with a complex, suspenseful plot. The story is a heart-pounding adventure with ongoing complications for Parker and his friends.

The story begins with a game of seven cards. Each participant has been invited but knows very few other members. The idea is to get to know them through poker so that they feel comfortable working together. Unfortunately, one of those was found with an “electrical cord”. The violator is eliminated and the party bids farewell and everyone goes home.

Later, Parker was invited by one of the former card players to join a group for a special and different job. Parker reluctantly. The plan originated with the wife of a wealthy banker who sold her business to a larger institution. The smaller bank had to transfer its records and assets to the larger bank many miles away. The transfer will be carried out by four armored trucks and a squad of police.

Some complications make it difficult to act. First, a bounty hunter shows up hoping to find an informant from a previous card game. Second, a very smart female cop becomes suspicious of Parker and starts hunting him down. Third, the banker’s wife and boyfriend began to guess Parker’s plan a second time. Parker continued with the plan but became wary. He wondered if he could escape with his skin, let alone profit.
