Except when it comes to chasing criminals, they’re all day and night, Davenport is a well-dressed, almost button-down, and Flowers hippy dashing in looks and demeanor, and when it comes to taking down the bad guys. , Davenport is willing to kill his prey if he suspects the offender can avoid conviction as Hoa rarely carries a weapon.

Sandford, whose real name is John Roswell Camp, is a good writer. This is Lucas Davenport’s 31st book. They all have the word “Prey” in the title, from 1989’s Rules of Prey to this book, Ocean Prey. There are also twelve books in an indie series featuring Flowers, four more about a geeky con artist/computer named Kidd, three YA horror books co-authored with Michele Cook, three other fiction books and three nonfiction books.
