Jane and Vincent finally get a much-needed rest after their adventure in Italy.

Vincent receives news that his estranged father has passed away at one of his properties in the West Indies. His brother, the manager of the estate, was overwhelmed and no one else in his family could go. Reluctantly, because of filial piety, the couple decided to go their separate ways.
The trip to the beach was long, and Jane had spent enough time not being able to pull off the glamorous beauty that by the end of the trip, she discovered she was pregnant. They were overjoyed, but when they finally arrived at the property to complete what they expected to be their usual legal duties, they realized that nearly everything they expected to find was a lie. In addition, the whole estate is in disarray, with appalling conditions and tensions with the local slave population being so high, they are almost revolting.

Jane and Vincent’s sense of danger is calling for them to flee, but Vincent cannot bear to leave a fortune attached to his family in such a state. They have survived many great and terrifying adventures of their time, but this adventure will test their skills and wits more than any adventure they have encountered before, this time with a new life in balance.
