Mary Alice Monroe creates characters that interest you and she really brought my attention to my favorite members of the Rutledge family. This story is as gorgeous and lush as its predecessors! And even though it’s part of a series, it stands alone splendidly. (But it would be a shame if you didn’t take the time to read the other books on the way to this latest one!)
