One Second After – A John Matherson Novel, Book 1, Online Audiobook by: William R. Forstchen.
A post-apocalyptic horror film about the after effects in the United States following a horrific terrorist attack using an electromagnetic pulse weapon.
In a small North Carolina town, a man struggles to save his family after America’s defeat in a war that will send the country back to the Dark Ages.
Quoted on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become reality. terrifyingly real.
Based on a real weapon— electromagnetic pulse (EMP)—that may already be in the hands of our enemies, here’s a true look at the monstrous power of a weapon that could destroy the entire world. United States, literally within a second.
In the tradition of On the Beach, Fail Safe, and Testament, this book, set in a typical American town, is a stark warning about our future and our end.
Excellent book on disaster preparedness set in a fictional near future, red dawn type, road warrior and postman movie in one book, I’m sure this will be made turned into a movie, a realistic look at what would, can’t happen if our great country were to fall into disarray due to war, or similar disaster and I don’t mean global warming , but a real crisis.
This is a wonderful book. I knew about the EMP threat before reading this book, but after reading this book, that known threat seems even more plausible.
This concept can make for a very interesting conversation with a friend. The narrator feels as if he is actually in the situation. Great book and easy to follow.
