Prince Of The Blood – Audiobook Online

Prince Of The Blood – Riftwar Cycle, Book 8, Krondor’s Sons, Book 1, Audiobook Online By: Raymond E. Feist

Prince of the Blood is a work that explores strength and weakness, hopes and fears, and what it means to be a man – in a kingdom where peace is the most precious commodity. Precious commodity of all.

If there were two more impulsive and carefree men in the Kingdom of the Islands, they would not have been found yet. The twins Borric and Erland wore that robe proudly, to the chagrin of their father, Prince Arutha of Krondor. But their happy youth was over. Their uncle, the King, had no sons. Ignoring herself, Arutha named Borric, the eldest brother within seconds, the Royal Heir. As his brother, Erland will have to shoulder great responsibilities of his own. To promote their future role, Arutha sends them as ambassadors for Kesh, the most feared nation in the world. Borric and Erland will be introduced to Queen Kesh – the most powerful ruler in the known world – at her 75th Anniversary.

But they hadn’t even left Krondor when their plot to assassinate Borric was thwarted. Aware that she was being provoked in the war, Arutha did not fall for the trap. The journey of his sons will not be hindered, for nothing but peace rests upon it. However, there will be no peace for the young princes. When their traveling party is ambushed, Borric disappears and is presumed dead – plunging Erland into a spiral of anger and grief as he is forced to navigate the intrigues of the court at Kesh alone. But no one knows, Borric is still alive and has escaped from his captors. In a strange land, with a price to pay on his head, Borric must use all his wits and stamina to find his way back to his brother.

On separate paths, two men – a fugitive and a future king – make their journey towards maturity, honor, and duty. For their every move could shake the fragile peace of the land, as the war-hungry rallied against them – and became bolder than ever.

My coming of age story is filled with magic, adventure, court intrigue and a plot that keeps you guessing until the very end. I liked both the writing and the narration although I felt the question ruler’s voice was a bit harsh. I read these books years ago and enjoyed learning about the audiobooks.

I enjoyed reading the entire series over and over again. Today, with little free time to sit and read, it’s great to be heard while I’m commuting to work or working around the house.
I hope that all the series are readable.
